Celebrate Asian Culture with Chef Bil Mitchell & the Morikami Museum at NSU’s Library

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and the NSU community is invited to celebrate at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library. Upcoming events include:

Chef Bil Mitchell returns to Alvin Sherman Library and applies his distinctive style to an Asian favorite. Chef Mitchell is the first promoted Apron’s Resident Chef of Publix and teaches regularly at the Plantation Publix Apron’s Cooking School. He has worked and managed various regional and seafood restaurants in New York, Ohio, Virginia and Florida over the last 26 years.

Sunday, May 15 from 2-4 p.m., in the Second Floor Gallery
Reiko Nishioka, Director of Education at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, will introduce the audience to George Morikami, explain the Yamato Colony, and share the legacy left to South Florida by these early settlers.
