FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – As the NSU women’s basketball team plays in their Elite Eight matchup in San Antonio, Shark fans at home can convene together to cheer on the team on NSU’s main campus.
On Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m., the Sharks’ game vs. Western Washington will be shown live at the Flight Deck in the Don Taft University Center. Free pizza will be provided during the watch party.

The NSU women’s basketball team, chosen as the No. 1 seed, hosted and won the 2013 NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. “Few things make me more proud to be NSU’s President than seeing our students, faculty and staff decked out in Shark gear, showing just how much they love their university,” said NSU President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., in an open memo all NSU students, faculty, and staff. In the first round of tournament, held at the Arena in the Don Taft University Center, the Sharks defeated No. 8 seed Clark Atlanta, winners of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. In the second round, the Sharks defeated Rollins College 73 to 57. And in the third round, the Sharks defeated Delta State with the final score of 78 to 56 and advanced to the Elite Eight of the 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament in San Antonio, Texas. NSU Sharks face the West Region victor on Tues., March 26.
