More Info:  This winter break, most college students spent their time catching up on sleep, visiting with friends and family and staying as far from academic pursuits as possible. Yet, 25 Nova Southeastern University students from the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship M.B.A. and the masters in real estate program took advantage of the time off to have a unique learning experience. They joined five of their professors from the Entrepreneurship and Real Estate programs as well as NSU President George L. Hanbury, Ph.D., on the Carnival ship, www.fathom.org for a week of studying “Emerging Entrepreneurship” in Cuba. Mornings were spent in lectures aboard the ship while they went ashore  in the afternoons to the ports of Havana, Santiago and Cienfuegos to see what Cuban entrepreneurism looks like firsthand. They even had the opportunity to participate in a U.S. Embassy briefing in Havana.  All students contributed to a daily blog with their thoughts and photos. In addition to academic goals, a few students took advantage of the trip and visited the neighborhoods where they were born.

Please note: Students and staff will be available for interviews in both English and Spanish.
