Student Leaders Recognized at Inaugural Razor’s Edge Leadership Scholarship Program Award Ceremony

The Razor’s Edge Leadership Development Program experience is designed for student leaders who will be entering college as first time in college freshmen. It provides students an incredible curricular and co-curricular experience that aims to help them gain the knowledge, skills, experience, and attitudes needed to be successful Leaders.

On April 11, a group of student leaders is being recognized at the inaugural Razor’s Edge Leadership Scholarship Program Award Ceremony. The awards categories and the winners are:

Learning to Lead Award: The following students are being recognized for earning the highest number of points available in the Fall RAZOR 1000 class. This was based upon attendance, participation in class, being on time, and earning top points on all written assignments

Campus Impact: The Campus Impact Award recognizes the Razor’s Edge member that demonstrated a significant campus impact through their leadership and commitment to NSU.

Most Involved: The Most Involved Award recognizes the Razor’s Edge member that was clearly involved in the most clubs and organization on campus as well as attended the most campus events. This year’s recipient of the Most Involved Award is a person who is an active member of 6 clubs and attended over 28 campus events to date.

Leading out loud: The recipients of the Leading Out Loud award is selected solely by Razor’s Edge students based on the following criteria:

  • Actively has kept the group motivated and encouraged
  • Works well with the most number of Razor’s Edge students
  • Visibly Enthusiastic about Razor’s Edge and NSU
  • Acts as a strong spokesperson for the Razor’s Edge program.

The Most Active Committee Award: recognizes the Razor’s Edge committee that did the most to keep us active and engaged in both the program and the university. Most Active Committee provided a lot events and fun activities that kept us motivated and encouraged.

Service Award: Razor’s Edge students were involved in several different service projects. We participated in service trips to Orlando to help build homes and Nashville to help with flood relief. We also participated in community clean-ups and Relay for Life. Many of us also completed several individual service projects as well

Founders award: The Founder’s Award recognizes:

  • Provost DePiano
  • Dean Williams

The program created program values. These values will become a permanent part of our program’s culture. These values are:

  • Innovation
  • Dedication
  • Enthusiasm

As Razor’s Edge members, we nominated up to 3 peers that have consistently demonstrated adherence to program values From those top three nominees, the program staff has selected one of us to be this year’s Founders Award recipient.
