DEERFIELD BEACH,Fla.–The Shark-to-Shark tradition continues as the 12-and-under Deerfield Beach Sharks, also known as the “Little Sharks,” and the Nova Southeastern University Softball team met up for their annual “Tie-Dye Clinic Combo.”
Every year, the Little Sharks, 2012 USSSA National Champions, join the NSU team on their campus for a fun team activity followed by a skills clinic. Following a fun and messy tie-dye session where both teams tie-dyed future practice jerseys, both sets of Sharks transferred their focus to the diamond at A.D. Griffin Sports Complex. The NSU Sharks interacted with their understudies for a two-hour clinic, sharing their knowledge of the game, providing specific skill instruction and sharing with them what it takes to compete at the next level.
“They absolutely love it,” said Karla Antonio, manager for the Little Sharks. “It’s a rare opportunity for them whether they understand it yet or not. It gives them something different to look forward to and it keeps them excited about practice. It’s always good to break up the regular routine and keep them engaged.” Complete Release
