NSU Women’s Swimming Wins Fourth Consecutive SSC Title

 

OCALA, Fla. – For the fourth straight season, the Nova Southeastern Sharks Women’s Swimming team has won the Sunshine State Conference Championship. The Sharks won 11 events over the five-day meet and set numerous meet, school, and conference records. It is the eighth title in program history.

Emily Trieschmann repeats as the Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Meet. Trieschmann scored 80-points for Nova Southeastern with her wins in the 800 Freestyle Relay, 1000 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 400 Medley Relay, 500 Freestyle, 1650 Freestyle (set a new SSC and Meet record), and the 400 Freestyle Relay. Trieschmann is the third swimmer to win the award twice and remains the fifth NSU honoree.

For the third consecutive season, Nova Southeastern Men’s Swimming finished second at the Sunshine State Conference Championships, the Sharks scored 659 points across the five days.

What’s Next

Both the Nova Southeastern Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams will now prepare for the NCAA National Championships. The NCAA National Championship meet is set to begin on Tuesday, March 12 in Geneva, Ohio
