Seventeen students from NSU’s campuses in Palm Beach and in Miami-Kendall spent a weekend in Key West, as part of an NSU Service Trip, volunteering their time to lend a hand to the community.

On Saturday, November 17, they worked with Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindness program in Key West, FL.  A Brush with Kindness assists the elderly community of Key West with the maintenance of their homes when they are in need.  These students spent eight hours washing, scraping, and priming for the painting of the home of Mrs. Rosa, an elderly resident who recently lost her husband.  Despite the exhausting labor and merciless heat, the students completed the project with smiles on their faces.  This is the first of many service trips to be offered to our students at NSU’s Student Educational Centers (SECs).
