NSU Student Performing in International Quartet Contest

Craig Johnson (Lake City, MI), a graduate student in the College Student Affairs program, will be singing in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Collegiate Quartet Contest on Tuesday, July 1st, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. The quartet, Frim Fram Productions, will be one of three collegiate quartet representatives from the state of Florida (Sunshine District), and among 27 college quartets from over 40 institutions across the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Sweden, and New Zealand. (Reference: http://barbershopconvention.com/international-collegiate-quartet-contest) Frim Fram Productions also consists of Giancarlo Otalora (Miami, FL), Robby Black (Houston, TX), and Nathan Meisser (Atlanta, GA), and will sing at approximately 9:07pm (PDT) Tuesday night.

The week-long convention and competition, taking place on June 29 to July 6, will attract over 8,000 in attendance from across the globe, promoting music education and camaraderie for over 25,000 members worldwide. Some of the featured events include the Collegiate Quartet Contest, the International Quartet Contest, and the International Chorus Contest, with several other events occurring throughout the week.
