The NSU Pre-Medical Society has partnered with Doctors Without Borders to raise donations to help residents in the Philippines, recently devastated by a typhoon. Please visit the donation page at http://events.doctorswithoutborders.org/campaign/nsupremed
As mentioned on NPR, “Many hospitals were destroyed or severely damaged in the devastating typhoon in the Philippines. In many cases, the hospitals that are treating patients are trying to rebuild at the same time — without electricity.”
Moreover, officials report that some 18,200 people were injured by the Typhoon Haiyan and Doctors Without Borders reports that the risk of skin disease, diarrhoea and tetanus are high in storm-hit areas, and has set up and offered inpatient and outpatient services.
100% of the donations will go to the Doctors Without Borders’ Medical Efforts and Initiatives in the Philippines (Funds are earmarked specifically for the Philippines medical efforts).
