Students from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s Accounting Club recently participated in a video contest to raise awareness about Certified Public Accountants (CPA) during the nation’s tax season.
The Florida Institute of CPAs, in conjunction with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), and the public at large, have selected the first, second and third place winners for “The ImPostulators” student video contest. The contest, aimed to spread awareness about the importance of using only a CPA, began in September 2012.
Team Gazzillo/Flynn came in first place, receiving a grand prize of $1,000 with an additional $350 contribution to the University of Florida. In second place, Team JJD received $500 with a $250 contribution to the University of South Florida. And in third place, the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Accounting Club received $250 with a $150 donation to NSU.
DBPR will use the videos as part of their annual unlicensed activity media campaign to educate consumers. You can view the winning videos online here: http://www.ficpa.org/Content/news/whatsnew/impostulators/Winners.aspx
