New Freediving Course Teaches Proper and Safe Breathhold Diving Techniques

Freediving is breath-hold diving and it is a rapidly growing sport.  Snorkeling enthusiasts who wish to breath-hold dive underwater will be trained in the proper techniques to safely engage in this activity.  This entry level certification course is for individuals wishing to learn and improve basic skills, knowledge and safety practices in freediving. Specific skill and knowledge gathered in this course will allow candidates to safely engage in basic breath holding activities no deeper than 20m/66 feet and complete breath holds no longer than 3:00 minutes.

The objective of the course is to familiarize students with freediving equipment and its proper use, teach them the fundamentals of freediving safety and techniques and have them understand the physics and physiological principles of breath hold diving that will allow them to work safely no deeper then 20m/66 feet.  The Freediver Level I course is March 16-17 and includes classroom, pool and ocean sessions.

Prices: $280 for students, faculty and staff.
