Nova Southeastern University – Miami to Host Open House

MIAMI, Fla – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will host an Open House on March 2, 2013 at its Miami Student Educational Center (SEC).  The Open House, which is free and open to the public, will provide information about the various health, education, business, and psychology programs NSU Miami offers, as well as host a guest speaker on the topic, “Be the Light: How to motivate teachers to greatness through professional development.”

“We’re looking forward to having Margaret Fahringer, Ed.D., speak on the importance of professional development in motivating our teachers. I think everyone who attends, not only teachers, will benefit from the wealth of knowledge that she has.” said Ricardo Belmar, M.I.B.A., director of NSU’s Miami SEC. “The Open House is an excellent opportunity for prospective students to gain insight into their future careers.”

Fahringer, Ed.D., received her Doctor of Education in 1996 from Florida International University. She has been an instructor for NSU since 1986 inthe Graduate Teacher Educational Leadership Program. Fahringer retired after 37 years with Miami-Dade County Public Schools.  She is currently a Principal at Everglades Preparatory Academy, a charter school in Homestead.

Attendees at the Open House can expect admissions counselors to be on hand answering questions on scholarships, grants, the financial aid process, admission requirements and deadlines.
