Music Showcase Uses Rock to Raise Funds for Autism

The South Flocal Soundcheck Showcase returns to the Culture Room on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 with a rock concert and talent showcase that benefits The University of Miami – Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UM-NSU CARD).

The South Flocal Soundcheck Showcase will feature bands from Miami-Dade and Broward counties include First October, Marvleo, Illstruck, City of Treason, Kamantra, Day Minus 7, and School of Rock.

The Dec. 11 concert kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at the Culture Room, 3045 N. Federal Highway, in Ft. Lauderdale. Proceeds from the event will benefit Insync With Autism, a music event for individuals with autism hosted by UM-NSU CARD.  Tickets to Soundcheck Showcase are available for $12 in advance and $15 at the door. The UM-NSU CARD provides FREE services for more than 5,500 families throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties. Services include family support, technical assistance and consultation, parent and professional training programs, and public education activities.
