Jump Into the New Season of the Arts with Family Friendly Musical A Year with Frog and Toad

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts will open its 2010–2011 Premier Series with performances of the Tony Award-nominated A Year with Frog and Toad, October 8–10. The family friendly musical will take place in the Performance Theatre of the college’s Performing and Visual Arts Wing in the Don Taft University Center.

A Year with Frog and Toad follows a worrywart toad and perky frog through a song-filled year of ups and downs as they awaken from hibernation. Every season brings new adventures, and the comedic pair does everything from planting a garden, to swimming in a pond, to sledding down steep hills—all while singing, laughing, and learning the true meaning of friendship along the way. Written by brothers Robert and Willie Reale, the musical is based on the children’s stories Frog and Toad, written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel.

Showtimes for A Year with Frog and Toad are Friday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 10, at 2:00 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to attend this production. Admission is free, but tickets are required. To reserve seats, call (954) 262-8179.

Each year, the college’s Division of Performing and Visual Arts presents outstanding theatrical, musical, dance, and visual arts productions. These performances and events serve as co-curricular opportunities for students to gain practical experience and provide the NSU community with a local resource for educational—and entertaining—performing and visual arts presentations.
