Join Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers at NSU for a Fun Run Supporting Special Olympics
Save the Date and join Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, Special Olympics athletes, and thousands of runners at the Joe Jonas iWin 5k Fun Run/Walk at NSU on Monday, Sept. 6 (Labor Day).
The NSU community is invited to register and compete in the fundraising challenge, to win top prizes including meeting and running with Joe Jonas himself at the race. Proceeds from this event will benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Florida.
This run is just one of several unique family events that Joe Jonas and his own Change for the Children Foundation is hosting across the country to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.
The Fun Run/Walk features a family friendly 5K and 1K option, with registration beginning at 6 a.m. and the Fun Run/Walk starting at 8 a.m. Registration fees are $30 per person if registered by Sept. 5, or $45 per person for day-of registration. Fees include a commemorative racing bib and finisher’s prize.

“Special Olympics places great importance on youth involvement and understanding,” said Special Olympics Florida President Monty Castevens, adding “there couldn’t be a better or more impactful ambassador for the Special Olympics movement to today’s youth than Joe Jonas.”
NSU is home to the Special Olympics Broward County chapter, which is the only chapter in the nation to be housed at a university.
The funds raised at the race will help give all Special Olympics Florida chapters the ability to continue to provide FREE year-round sports training and competition to 15,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem, friendships, and the life skills necessary to be respected and contributing members of their communities.
