The INIM is pleased to host Vladimir Beljanski, Ph.D., at the monthly INIM Research Seminar Series on Friday, March 3, 12:00–1:30 p.m. at the Center for Collaborative Research on the 4th floor, room 440.
Beljanski received his Ph.D. from Emory University and completed a post-doctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina. His expertise focuses on preclinical development of therapies which include both biologicals and small molecule therapies.
The overall goals of his research program include understanding the events involved in the host response to therapeutic cell engraftment and utilizing knowledge of cell-host interactions to develop novel cell-based therapeutics.
The Beljanski laboratory is currently pursuing three different areas of research: 1) development of cell therapies for heart failure using mesenchymal stromal cells; 2) pharmacological and genetic modulation of autophagy for increased efficacy of therapeutic cells; and 3) systems biology approaches to examining consequences of cell engraftment.
