Former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham Joined Panel Discussion and Free Screening of Documentary About Florida’s Future
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and The Florida Humanities Council recently co–sponsored a free screening of the documentary Florida: Choosing the Future. The free event was held on October 27, 2011. The documentary featured Florida leaders speaking on issues of concern to Floridians. Following the film, former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham and other panelists lead a discussion with the audience.
The half-hour film was shown in the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center on NSU’s main campus in Davie. The film challenged viewers to consider the tough decisions that will affect our state’s future in government policy, business development, education and citizen involvement.
Following the film the panel discussion was led by the Honorable Bob Graham; Helen Aguirre-Ferré, op-ed writer for Diario de las Americas, radio host at WQBA and moderator of the program “Issues” on WPBT PBS-2; and David Colburn, Ph.D., Executive Director, Askew Center for Politics and Society in Gainesville, Florida.
