One of South Florida’s signature events, NSU’s Celebration of Excellence, honored well-known community philanthropists, The Miniaci family on Saturday, January 30. The Miniacis received the President’s Award for Excellence in Community Service for their tremendous impact on our community and the university.

Hosted by NSU President Dr. George Hanbury and the NSU Board of Trustees, more than 500 members of the community attended the Celebration of Excellence held on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale-Davie campus.

President Hanbury also publicly launched Realizing Potential: The Campaign for Nova Southeastern University, the largest externally-funded campaign in the university’s more than 50-year history and in the history of Broward County. $250 million will be raised from philanthropic gifts with another $300 million to come from externally funded research. To culminate the exciting evening, eight new $1 million gifts were announced at the Celebration of Excellence event.
