You don’t have to run for office to spend time in the nation’s capital. Learn how to secure an internship in Washington, D.C., by attending an information session on The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, hosted by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Office of the Dean.

Each year, The Washington Center offers a variety of internships in and around the capital. Students work about four days a week at a governmental, for-profit, nonprofit, or international organization assigned to them based on interests and fields of study. The positions cover a range of subjects, such as advocacy, service, the arts, international affairs, law and criminal justice, media and communication, science, political leadership, and policy.
Participating organizations and companies include the American Psychological Association, American Red Cross, Amnesty International, Chemical Manufacturers Association, CNN, Peace Corps, United States Congress, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the White House, and the World Bank, among others.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable, real-world experience in Washington, D.C. Internships enable students to work and meet with professionals while building a network of contacts. A successfully completed internship may also lead to a full-time job upon graduation from NSU.
