Business School Hosts Robert Hacker, CFO of One Laptop Per Child

The Huizenga Business School’s Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA) hosted its first Power Lunch event of 2011 on Jan. 19, which featured Robert Hacker, CFO of One Laptop Per Child.

Hacker discussed the economics behind a successful non-profit, the founders of the organization, and current operations. He also spoke about how to effectively manage unexpected effects of the mission, including social equality and human dignity.

One Laptop Per Child is a not-for-profit organization that creates educational opportunities for the world’s poorest children by providing each child with a low-cost laptop. Internships are offered in Africa and South America. Learn more at http://laptop.org/en/vision/.
