Nova Southeastern University students, alumni and friends of the university who own “smart” phones, tablets and other mobile devices have a new and easy way to stay connected with NSU: “iShark” mobile application. The iShark “app,” has just been developed and offers amazingly convenient access to the latest campus news, maps, course catalogues, events, and much more.
The iShark mobile app is available on the Apple Store for the iPhone and iPad, and on the Android Marketplace for Android devices. Download iShark today at:
Android Market: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blackboard.android.central.nova
Apple Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ishark-nova-southeastern-university/id510191933?ls=1&mt=8
According to Hugo Alvarez, executive director in the Office of Innovation & Information Technologies, the mobile app is only the beginning of the technological transformation focused on fulfilling the university’s Vision 2020.
“iShark is the first of many innovations that we have underway,” he said. “We look forward to introducing many student-inspired apps in the months ahead.”
Alvarez encourages students to send suggestions for future apps that they would like to see developed. Ideas for additional apps should be sent to mobilehelp@nova.edu.
With the iShark Mobile app, NSU now offers a cutting-edge product that will give you real-time access to online information and features including: Athletics (Sharks’ sports scores and schedules); Events (manage your calendar in a snap); Maps (an interactive map of the main campus designed specifically for mobile devices); Videos (stream video content from recent events, lectures and more); News (an up-to-date listing of NSU news stories); Images (digital images of the university); Courses (effortlessly browse the course catalog); Discover University School (gain access to the website of independent, college preparatory school that educates students in grades prekindergarten through twelfth grade); Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale (access to South Florida’s cool destination for art, cultural events and more); Undergraduate and Graduate (complete application or request information about the university); Blackboard Learn Mobile (access to your online classes is at your fingertips); Emergency (obtain quick access to NSU’s Office of Public Safety and Emergency Contact information).
