PURPOSE OF EVENT: The purpose of the United for Colombia Flood Relief Drive is to assist families that have been displaced or left homeless by the worst floods and mudslides in the country’s history. By partnering with FundeCruces, a Colombian foundation that seeks to help those families in need in the southern region of the country, Nova Southeastern University’s Leadership Roundtable Scholars, with the assistance of NSU’s Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement (SLCE) and Nova International Students Association (NISA), are initiating a relief effort to aid the thousands of families that have been affected by these floods.
The items that will be collected include:
– Non perishable foods
– Toiletries (soaps; tissues, tooth brushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, combs, brushes)
– Clothes
– Footwear
HOW CAN YOU HELP? By donating these basic items and dropping them off at the designated locations around Nova Southeastern University’s main campus starting Feb. 1- Feb. 5, 2011. The designated sites include: the Parker Building, Alvin Sherman Library, Carl DeSantis Building, Don Taft University Center, Leo Goodwin Sr. Residence Hall and The Commons Residence Hall.
