Over 300 NSU students, faculty, and staff recently came out to cheer the competitors in the historic 25th Annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Races that took place November 9 as part of the NSU 2016 Homecoming Week.
A record 43 rafts, constructed by NSU students, set sail on the Gold Circle Lake to compete for one of three exciting prizes. This year featured an out-of-water race start. Some rafts powered the straight-away to cross the finish line at the “fin”. However, many rafts were not so sea-worthy and sank or simply fell apart; this led to great hilarity for the spectators.
The winners of each heat came together in a very close championship heat:
- First Place: The Unbroken
- Second Place: The Rotarowens
- Third Place: KK Rowin’
Congratulations to all participants and winners at 25th Annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Races!
