NSU faculty, staff, students and families from the Mailman Segal Center (MSC) joined forces to form Team NSU for the Baudhuin Preschool and walked together at the 2016 Broward Autism Speaks Walk held on campus on Saturday, September 24th.
Team NSU raised more than $3,300, contributing to the event’s total of over $140,000. By hosting the event on campus, the university had the opportunity to showcase its history of providing high-quality services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
“From innovative, direct-service programs to academic coursework to research, autism has been a major focus of our university for many years,” said Sue Kabot, executive director of MSC’s Autism Institute.
Roni Leiderman, Ph.D., dean of the Mailman Segal Center, serves on the board of directors for Autism Speaks in Broward County.
Contributions are still being accepted for Team NSU. Please go to the team page at 2016 Autism Walk.
