Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation is the national anti-hunger campaign and fundraiser that is dedicated in supporting and ending childhood hungry in America. On Saturday August 6 the event took place at the Orlando World Center Marriott. This year the event benefited two organizations the Coalition for the Homeless and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. This event approximately raised $167,545 that will be use for enrolling more eligible families in affordable meal programs, school breakfast programs, after-school snacks programs, summer meals programs, WIC programs, and teaching more families how to cook healthy. This was the Sharkateer’s club second volunteer event. As volunteers members were able to set-up and organize the table displays for the event.
