The H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship is launching its 2016 “Sustainability 101” lecture series on Wednesday, March 9, with a discussion about the Broward County Climate Change Action Plan. The event will be held on campus in the DeSantis Building, room 3049, at noon.
Organized in collaboration with Broward County, speakers will include Jessica Brumley, NSU’s vice president of facilities management, and Dion Taylor, owner of ENO Consulting Group, a new business model to support local food.
The “Sustainability 101” event will highlight the community’s challenges and plans for maintaining South Florida’s natural beauty as well as efforts already underway by area redevelopment agencies, schools and hospitals. Brumley and Taylor will discuss how natural elements such as trees, diverse vegetation, local biodiversity, water features, parks, natural playscapes, and community and school gardens promote a feeling of wellbeing.
Students, faculty and guests are welcome but reservations are required since lunch will be provided. Please register on the link: https://doodle.com/poll/mwp5spuzezc6u8mm or email: jmorales@brokersinvestments.com.
