Don Taft University Center Spine
If you have been contemplating finding a job that you can balance with your school responsibilities, mark your calendar for the NSU Student Employment Fair! The fair will take place on Tuesday, August 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Don Taft University Spine. The Office of Student Employment will be available to tell you about the application process and your eligibility for various positions. You can meet NSU employers and find out about the jobs currently available, including minimum number of hours, job responsibilities, and more.
Tips for success:
- Get a head start by completing the online Student Employment Workshop.
All students must complete the 15-minute workshop presentation and pass the quiz to gain access to the student employment application system JobX.
- Once you have gained access to JobX, which is accessible in SharkLink’s quick links section, you can peruse open job opportunities and requirements, such as whether the position requires a Federal Work-Study award and even apply for positions.
- Bring copies of your resume.
- Dress the part. When selecting your outfit, think about the message you wish to convey through first impressions.
Students who work part time on campus generally achieve higher grade point averages and faster degree completion than their nonworking peers. Students who participated in Federal Work-Study attribute academic improvement to the organizational and study skills they gained during that work experience.

This event is hosted by the Office of Student Employment.
