Interested in cyber threats, or perhaps pondering a career in cyber security? This is your chance to be a part of “STOP.THINK.CONNECT.Miami.,” part of a national Department of Homeland Security campaign to raise cyber awareness in the community. Leaders from across Miami’s government, business and civic communities will host a variety of education and knowledge-sharing events open to the public throughout the week.
On Wednesday, January 25, as part of the week-long Cyber Security events in South Florida, Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Graduate School of Computer and Information Services invites you to attend an exciting group discussions on Cyber Security, followed by a Cyber Security Career Session.
Cyber Awareness Session:
5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Members of the NSU and South Florida communities will discuss issues which include identity theft, phishing, fraud and ethics.
Cyber Career Session:
6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Members from the Department of Homeland Security’s National Cyber Security Division, the United States Secret Service, NSU’s Institute for Disaster and Emergency Preparedness, and representatives from the non-profit and private sectors will be available to discuss opportunities in cyber security.
Both sessions will be held in the Carl DeSantis building on NSU’s main campus in Rooms 3049/3051.
