The Student Government Association (SGA) at NSU’s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) will sponsor a Special Edition of Diversity Dialogues, with the topic: “Race Issues in America 11: The Ferguson Police Shooting and Beyond.” The event is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 8, in NSU’s Performance Theater in the Don Taft University Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel moderator will be Debra Nixon, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in SHSS. Panelists will include Cheryl Duckworth, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in SHSS; Cynthia Henry Duval, Esq., from NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center and Tony Gaskew, Ph.D., associate professor and director of the Criminal Justice Program at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford. Gaskew is a 2014 NSU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and is a DCAR doctoral graduate.
