Claire Michele Rice, Ph.D., faculty and chair in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR) in NSU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) presented at the Sixth Annual UMN Mentoring Institute Conference. The conference was held at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, with this year’s being “Impact and Effectiveness of Developmental Relationships.”.
Joining Rice’s as a co-presenter was Stephen Agbor, a DCAR doctoral candidate. Their presentation was entitled, “Mentoring as a Tool for Developing Self-Efficacy in Children.” Originally from Cameroon, Agbor holds degrees from Yaoundé University, Cameroon and Utrecht University, Netherlands. He has served as a legal researcher at the United Nations, involving crimes against humanity, treaties and appeals.
Rice’s teaching and research interests include poverty alleviation and economic empowerment, diversity research and training, collaborative problem-solving and mentoring for human resource development.
