SAINT LEO, FL – The Nova Southeastern women’s basketball team won their 12th consecutive game on Saturday afternoon, taking down Saint Leo from the Marion Bowman Activities Center. The Sharks were led by a season-high 24 points from Nicole Scales.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half – The Sharks jumped out to an early 6-2 lead after a layup from Morgan Kane. With 2:05 left in the quarter, Scales knocked down a three-pointer to jump start a 7-0 run for NSU as they headed to the second quarter with a 21-10 lead. Midway through the quarter, the Lions brought their deficit to six points. Shortly after, NSU would go on 10-2 run to extend their lead back to double digits, ultimately closing the half with a 38-28 lead.
Second Half – India Shepherd kicked off the second half with a three-pointer. As they approached the 6:30 mark, Kailyn Terrell’s layup started a quick 5-0 run, capped off by free throws from Scales. Both teams continued to battle defensively but Jess Moors would have the last say in the quarter, knocking a jumper with two seconds left as they headed to the final frame. Saint Leo came out aggressive in the fourth quarter, cutting the NSU’s lead to just five points with 5:34 remaining in the game. Shortly after, Terrell and Scales knocked down back-to-back three-pointers, pushing the Sharks lead to 13 and ultimately securing the 75-63 victory over Saint Leo.
