Sharks Open SSC Play with Victory Over Florida Tech

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Tabea Schütt lasered one in late to give the Sharks a lead in the 73rd minute. Stefane Rosa and the Sharks’ defense hunkered down the rest of the way to lead the team to victory. Nova Southeastern takes down Florida Tech 1-0 Saturday night in the Sharks’ first SSC match of the season.

How it Happened:

  • In the 8th minute, Emery Biggs had an opportunity to get the Sharks on the board early, but her attempt was knocked away by the Panthers’ goalkeeper.
  • In the 39th minute, Stefane Rosa made a massive save to keep the game knotted at 0-0.
  • In the early portion of the second half, Tabea Schütt and Saga Bjorling saw potential scoring chances, but the Panthers’ goalkeeper swatted away both of their shots.
  • In the 73rd minute, Tabea Schütt fired one into the back of the net, finally breaking the scoreless tie, and giving the Sharks a 1-0 lead in the back-half of the second half.
  • In the closing ten minutes of the match, Stefane Rosa faced numerous shots, but denied them all from crossing the goal line.
  • Stefane Rosa recorded five saves, completing her third shutout victory on the season.
