The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship and the Young Entrepreneurs Council (YEC) are pleased to announce the establishment of the Young Entrepreneurs Council Scholarship. Ruchel Louis, chair of the YEC confirmed the approval of $25,000.00 to create the scholarship fund, which was voted on at the group’s November, 2010 quarterly meeting.

The gift to Nova Southeastern University’s Huizenga Business School was created specifically to help budding entrepreneurs. The scholarship is open to undergraduate students who demonstrate leadership and who want to become entrepreneurs. The scholarship will be awarded over the next five years, with one student receiving $5,000 each year. Students may only receive the scholarship once. The recipient of the scholarship will be required to serve as the Student Leader of the YEC mentorship group.

The goal of the scholarship is to assist students financially, create an environment to enhance academic learning and provide mentorship to entrepreneurs in the making.

The YEC was founded in 2002, established by the Huizenga Business School Board of Governors to create ties to our business community of young entrepreneurs and professionals.  The YEC currently consists of 35 members representing a range of industries. Members are founders of companies or senior level corporate executives.
