FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Shepard Broad Law Center, in conjunction with the Nova Law Review and NSU Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS), present the 2015 annual Nova Law Symposium on February 12-13, 2015. The focus of the conference is to provide an interdisciplinary review of issues involving business and industry responses to the transformative impact of new media on traditional entertainment and media, including journalism, sports, film, broadcast, gaming, music, and similar areas.
Social media, new distribution models, wearable electronics, global attacks on media companies, reinterpretation of fair use, sharable 3D print programs, and other technological changes require artists, industry, courts, and legislatures to rethink the ways laws once designed for daily print newspapers and burlesque houses apply in the modern age. The symposium is an opportunity for academics, practitioners, consultants, and students to exchange ideas and explore emerging issues of law, policy and economic enterprise.

The academic conference will feature faculty and attorneys from around the globe and throughout the U.S. to provide an interdisciplinary review of issues involving business and industry responses to the transformative impact of new media on traditional entertainment and media, including journalism, sports, film, broadcast, gaming, music, and advertising.

Registration includes 9 CLE credits in Florida, and 7.5 CLE credits in Minnesota. The registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, reception, and all published materials. Two- and one-day registrations are available. NSU Students and Faculty are free. Students and faculty from other universities and college, judges, and government and non-profit employees are $25 for both days.
