On November 20, 2014, NSU has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the 25 INSTITUTOS TECOLÓGICOS DE EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR in the State of Veracruz, Mexico. The agreement provides opportunities for increased student mobility and internationalization initiatives for undergraduate students from Mexico who want to study and live on the NSU campus for one semester or more, or for those who wish to take online courses and degrees. It is also provides opportunities for professors from each of the INSTITUTOS TECOLÓGICOS to come to NSU for graduate degree programs, utilizing scholarship funds provided by the Mexican government. NSU is expecting to receive its first group of undergraduate students and professors in August 2015.
The signing ceremony took place in the historic district of Veracruz, Mexico, and was attended by government education officials, faculty, staff, and rectors of several institution. Dr. Anthony J. DeNapoli, NSU’s Associate Dean of International Affairs was present for the signing.
“I believe this to be an important step as we seek to increase our international student enrollment. NSU benefits greatly in the rich, cultural diversity that all our international students bring to our campus”, said Dr. Brad Williams, vice president of Student Affairs and dean of the College of Undergraduate Studies at NSU
NSU will be signing a similar enrollment agreement with the State of Puebla, Mexico, the second week of December, and plans to sign agreements with other institutions in numerous States across Mexico in 2015.
