NSU Women’s Soccer Tabbed Second in SSC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State announced its 2024 preseason coaches’ poll on Wednesday morning. NSU was selected to finish second in the league, earning 86 points and one first-place vote for the 2024 season.

Head Coach Amy Vaughan looks to lead the Sharks back to the NCAA Tournament in her first official season at the helm. Last season, NSU made an impressive run to the NCAA South Region Championship, where they faced fellow SSC member, Florida Tech, their first appearance since the 2019 season. The Sharks finished the regular season with a 10-3-1 overall record and a 7-3-0 record in conference play, which earned them the third seed in the SSC Tournament.

Despite losing Shark standouts Luana Grabias and Stefane Rosa, the Sharks return several key players, which features All-SSC selections Tabea Schutt and Sofia Suarez as well as Izzy Martinez, a familiar face in the Sharks lineup.
