On Sunday, April 10th students from the NSU Jacksonville Physician Assistant (PA) program Class of 2011 and Class of 2012 helped volunteer at the HEAL Autism Walk at the Jacksonville Zoo. The two classes together made a combined donation of $1,000 dollars, and they had a number of students volunteer on the day of the walk. NSU Jacksonville PA students were there to help families out with registration, hang signs about the facts of Autism, and help cheer/support all of the participants and their families. They were able to meet and talk with many autistic children and their families, learn their stories, and cheer them along in their walk and support them in their journey.
