More than 50 NSU Fort Myers students, staff and their family members participated in the Southwest Florida Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The event took place on Saturday, October 23, with all the participants setting out on the journey from the Tanger Outlets in Fort Myers, FL. The team was captained by Victoria Charles and Toni Muto who are both students in the College of Allied Health and Nursing.
NSU Fort Myers finished in 5th place out of the 78 teams participating in the event by raising $2,925 towards breast cancer research. The tremendous turnout of the Sharks served as yet another example of the commitment of NSU students to community outreach and volunteerism.
