NSU Aquatics Coordinator and a Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Daniel Kifle, visited the Pembroke Pines YMCA to teach swim lessons and discuss careers in Aquatics to 80 teens in March. Daniel was a perfect fit to talk to the teens about careers in Aquatics because of his unique Aquatics story.
Not knowing how to swim Daniel received adult swim lessons at Georgia State University in the spring of 2010. After excelling in his swim lessons, he became a lifeguard later that year. In 2011 then received his Water Safety Instructor Certification, which enabled him to teach the same lessons he participated in. In 2012 received his Lifeguard Instructor certification and accepted a graduate assistantship in aquatics at Virginia Tech. After graduating with his Master’s in Education in 2013, Daniel accepted the Aquatics Coordinator position at Nova Southeastern University. Daniel hopes to help lift the Aquatics Department to new heights and continue to be a positive role model in the community.
