The Farquhar College of Arts and Science will welcome Miami author Robert Andrew Powell to the NSU campus. Powell is the author of This Love Is Not for Cowards, which chronicles a season of soccer and the hope it inspires in Ciudad Juarez, an impoverished city across the Rio Grande where Mexico’s human trafficking and violent drug trade have taken a deadly toll. This talk will focus on Mexico, Mexican-American relations, and life on the border within the context of Powell’s book.
The event is supported by the Stolzenberg-Doan Family Endowment, sponsored by James Doan, Ph.D., professor at the college.
