FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – With one month remaining until the first pitch, head coach Julie LeMaire and the Nova Southeastern softball team have officially released their 2024 schedule.
After a historic 2023 season, the Sharks look to make another run in the NCAA Tournament. NSU will compete in 53 matches this spring, with 21 of those matches being played at the AD Griffin Sports Complex.
“We are looking forward to another season of tough competition again in 2024. We open up the first weekend at the Gulf Shores Invitational, playing a lot of top ranked Regional teams right away,” stated Head Coach LeMaire. “This will give us an opportunity to see some very talented teams prior to opening up our conference schedule in the SSC. We have a lot of exciting new talent that we have added to our veteran roster and we can’t wait to see them all hit the field together.”
The Sharks will kick off the 2024 campaign on the road at the Gulf Shores Invitational on Feb. 2nd. NSU will take on Auburn Montgomery and West Alabama in a doubleheader for their season debut. The Sharks will return on Feb. 3 for another doubleheader, this time against West Georgia and West Florida before closing out play on Feb. 4 with matchups against Valdosta State and Spring Hill College. All games will be played at the Sportsplex in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Nova Southeastern will head back to sunny South Florida for their home opener in a doubleheader against the Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 10. The Sharks will return the following day for two matches against East Stroudsburg, a rematch from last year’s World Series.
