On April 20, the Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA) hosted a Power Lunch featuring Sam Hines, Senior Executive Search Consultant at Human Resource Synergies.
Hines discussed the importance of strategically negotiating compensation during a job interview. He detailed the different tactics an interviewer can use in order to prevent giving away too much; his main suggestion: do market research about the particular position you are applying for. Other methods used to effectively negotiate salary are to avoid giving away a specific salary and to maintain within general salary brackets. Previously, Hines was the Director of Human Resources for Logistics at Ryder.
