Free event to be held Thursday, Oct. 27 at Nova Southeastern University
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and The Florida Humanities Council will co–sponsor a free screening of the documentary Florida: Choosing the Future on October 27. The documentary features Florida leaders speaking on issues of concern to Floridians. Following the film, former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham and other panelists will lead a discussion with the audience.
The half-hour film will be shown at 10:00 am in the Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center on NSU’s main campus in Davie. The film will challenge viewers to consider the tough decisions that will affect our state’s future in government policy, business development, education and citizen involvement.
Following the film the panel discussion will be led by the Honorable Bob Graham; Helen Aguirre-Ferré, op-ed writer for Diario de las Americas, radio host at WQBA and moderator of the program “Issues” on WPBT PBS-2; and David Colburn, Ph.D., Executive Director, Askew Center for Politics and Society in Gainesville, Florida.
