Breaking Down Barriers:
The college experience is not always what it is portrayed to be. Students are facing challenges on a daily basis of being discriminated against because of whom they are. Discrimination can emanate from different factors such as culture, sexuality, religious affiliation, and many other factors.
This panel discussion will provide an opportunity where the facilitators and attendees can share their experiences and discuss how they were able to be resilient in these situations. The goal of this dialogue is a thought provoking discussion on how one can be resilient in the face of adversity.
This workshop is facilitated by Conflict Resolution Services (CRS) at the NSU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nova Southeastern University. Peace Place, a collaboration that we have with the Broward County Library System, provides presentations and workshops for the NSU and local communities held in the Broward County libraries.
