This year, Mako Radio on WKPX 88.5 FM Sunrise was elected as the 2024 College Radio Day Florida Headquarters. We were selected out of more than 150 stations in Florida to be the state headquarters. Since 2012, College Radio Day is known internationally as World College Radio Day, as more than 40 countries around the world celebrate this day. The aim of College Radio Day is to harness the combined listenership of hundreds of thousands of college radio listeners throughout the world and to celebrate the important contribution of college radio by uniting for this one day.
This year’s theme is “Defenders of Democracy,” wherein our student DJs will host a show live on WKPX 88.5 FM Sunrise and on an online livestream with a new topic around the central theme each hour.

Time: live music @12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. | food trucks & HBIA businesses @ 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Outside of the booth at Rosenthal 140
We will have food trucks, HBIA businesses, live performances, and live DJs on stage throughout the day.
