Maxine Cohen, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity at NSU’s College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), co-authored a book titled, Designing the User Interface: Strategies for Effective Human-Computer Interaction.
The textbook had its recent debut in San Jose at ACM CHI 2016: the top conference for Human-Computer Interaction. The book is now in its 6th edition and was a collaboration between several authors including Ben Shneiderman from the University of Maryland who has been involved in the book since its first edition.
Dr. Cohen has been with NSU since 1996 and has taught and researched human-computer interaction (HCI). In addition to HCI, her research areas include social media and distance education. In 2013, she was awarded Professor of the Year by the College.
