Manon Maitland Schladen, Ph.D., alumna of NSU’s College of Engineering and Computing, was the recipient of the Robert M. Gagne Award for Graduate Student Research in Instructional Design. She received the honor for her dissertation research titled, “Formative Research on an Instructional Design Theory for Virtual Patients in Clinical Education: A Pressure Ulcer Prevention Clinical Reasoning Case.”
The award was presented by Dr. Gary Anglin at the 2015 Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) in November in Indianapolis, Indiana. AECT is a professional association of thousands of educators and others whose activities are directed toward improving instruction through technology. Dr. Schladen is a health science specialist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and senior research associate at MedStar Health Research Institute in Washington, D.C.
