Molly Scanlon, Ph.D., Claire Lutkewitte, Ph.D., and Juliette Kitchens, Ph.D., faculty in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) presented at the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The theme of the conference was “Faces of Advocacy.” Their presentation was titled “Advocating for Ourselves: Constructing Faculty Identities after Graduate School.” It was an interactive roundtable inviting participants to help develop an action plan for graduate programs to better prepare students for future faculty responsibilities related to teaching, research, service, and administration. The roundtable was co-chaired by University of Florida graduate students Xuezi Zhang and Buyi Wang. Scanlon, Lutkewitte, and Kitchens are faculty in the Department of Writing and Communication.
