Kathleen Waites, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Literature and Modern Languages in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), has written a chapter in the edited volume, Bad Girls and Transgressive Women in Contemporary Television, Fiction and Film. Published by Palgrave, the book is edited by Julie Chappell and Mallory Young. Her chapter is titled, Hollywood’s Warrior Woman in the New Millennium.
Waites’ teaching and research interests include memoir and autobiography, gender studies, images of women/gender in popular culture, women’s literature, women in film, and women filmmakers. She co-founded and served as advisor for NSU’s unique campus American Association of University Women chapter, and was the long-serving advisor of Radio X.
