NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences is delighted to announce the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of NSU Theatre this coming weekend with an exciting performance of Hamlet. Come enjoy this theatrical performance of the classic Shakespearean drama. Watch as NSU students and faculty undertake a show of royal proportions. This production holds true to the text of Shakespeare’s original work but will give you a new perspective on this renowned show. You will not be disappointed with this show full of betrayal, honor, and some light humor.
NSU Theater began in the fall of 2005 with “Burial of Thebes,” in the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center. Since 2005, the number of theater events has grown to 6 shows a year, 4 main stage shows, an Improv Jam, and an annual Student Festival, featuring student-directed one-act performances. A variety of shows have been produced, including Tartuffe, Midsummer Night’s Eve, Cinderella, Cabaret, and Everyman, totaling nearly 50 shows/events with over 10,000 attendees. Last season alone nearly 2,000 people were in the audience.
Hamlet will be performed in the Performance Theatre in the Don Taft University Center. Performances will be on November 20 and 21, at 7:30pm, and on November 22, at 2:00pm.
Tickets for NSU students, faculty, and staff with an NSU ID card are $5. Tickets for community members are $10. Tickets are available for purchase via the online Box Office or at the door on the day of the performance. For more information, please call (954) 262-8179.
